What we did

Website Design and Development

The Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA) is a 100-year-old gallery located in the heart of Edmonton offering tours, events, exhibitions, and more! Our team had the exciting opportunity to design and build a brand-new website for the AGA. The previous website, built on Drupal, was outdated in the look and feel, difficult to navigate, and time consuming for AGA website administrators to add and edit content. This resulted in a frustrating user experience for web visitors.

The new website, built on WebGuide CMS, provides a new design that better reflects the AGA and offers an easily searchable and easy to navigate experience for website visitors. Users can easily browse all current exhibitions and events on the custom made “What’s On” page. Today’s Hours are found easily in the header of the website and the new and improved sitemap makes finding what you’re looking for a breeze!

Art Sales and Rentals

For more than Art Gallery of Alberta has run the Art Sales and Rental program, enabling the public to have art in their homes and offices at a reasonable cost. Box Clever built a custom system for the AGA to manage over 1,600 pieces of art. Administrators can mark art as for sale, for rental, the prices and availability. Users can search for specific artists, or use the filters to find exactly what they are looking for.

Art piece pages have all the information about the piece available, and users can view both the purchase price and rental price. Users can inquire about the piece and get in touch with AGA staff to learn more.

Highlight image for What's On Page

What's On Page

The What's On Page highlights everything going on at the Gallery including Exhibitions, Parties, Talks, Workshops, and more! Users can use the filters to easily browse everything the gallery has to offer. AGA website administrators can set Featured Events that display below the banner giving them an easy and visually pleasing way to highlight key upcoming events.

Memberships

Memberships are a very important part of the AGA and needed a better way to highlight the different levels of memberships and what is included for each. Box Clever built a custom page that highlights all the different levels or membership, what is included, and easy links to purchase a membership online. 

With the expertise of our team, we were able to create a beautiful and functional custom website that will allow the AGA to position itself as an Arts leader not only in Edmonton but in all of Canada.
